HISTORY:
The Heavy Weights M/C was founded in June 1993 by four men who had a
vision to be a part of an organization based on true brotherhood,
loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, personal
courage, and a shared passion for riding.
In late 1993 we agreed to use "The Heavyweights" to match your bike
size as a requirement. On or about 5 Jun 1993 the name came from a
statement that you must have a strong 900 or up to become a Heavy
Weight. The founding members found that at Black Bike Week "93"
Myrtle Beach, SC, the bigger bikes were the one's to have if you
wanted to stay in the race or roll with the pack.It was then that we
decided to move up in size to at least the 1000cc class thus
deriving the motto of "It takes a grand to roll with the
band." It was then that the name Heavy Weights M/C had
been etched in stone to being the club name.
The Heavy Weights rolled in a big way and did things in a big way
when it came time for Black Bike Week being that we had members
coming in from across the country for this one big event and to meet
and greet with fellow Heavy Weights. The event (BBW) became larger
and larger in Myrtle Beach. The stories, experience, and all of the
fun the guys and girls were enjoying are what keep new members
coming within the Heavy Weights family every year.
